Middle School GPA Worksheet
Attached is a worksheet that you can use to determine what your GPA (grade point average) would be with your current grades.
It is important to realize that your middle school grades will not calculate into your high school GPA. Your high school GPA will be what colleges use to help them determine whether or not to accept you to if you apply to them.
However, it is also important that you understand now how a GPA is calculated so that you can see what your current level of achievement would earn if you were in high school at this point. Use the SuperMatch in Naviance to find some colleges that interest you to see if your GPA would qualify you for admission. Now is the time to plan for your success! If your grades today aren’t high enough to make you eligible to get into to the schools that you think you might be interested in later, you need to know that now so that you can learn to be a better, more successful student while there is still time to make a real difference.
On the linked worksheet, place the total number of each grade you have received into the space provided. In the example below, the student has received one A+, one A-, two Bs, one C- and one D. This calculates to a GPA of 2.733. This will be a rough calculation and will not differentiate between full and partial-year courses, but it should give you an idea of the kind of GPA your grades would generate.
